New Life Village
At New Life Village we have made it our mission is to provide youth aging and aged out of foster care with safe, clean, and practical independent living structures in a small community setting. We provide professional and volunteer lead resources that support their journey with dignity, love, excellence, and compassion .We aim to inspire them to change the world for others as they prosper.
The Why
Approximately 20,000 Children phase out of foster care each year in the United States.
20% Of the youth will become homeless the day that they foster out. That is 4,000 children left alone with nothing. More than 1,200 Children will phase out of the foster care system this year in Texas alone. 1/2 Of the phased-out youth will not have found gainful employment by the age of 24. Less than 3% Of these children will earn a college degree at any point in their life. 7 out of 10 Girls who age out of the foster care system will become pregnant before the age of 21.
The Village Mindset
We believe in the success of our organization because we believe in cooperation. Learning from those ahead of us has placed us in a position of proven success, as we avoid their experienced setbacks. This practice has earned us the respect and partnership of organizations like Garden of Hope Central Texas and Phased In. Both are successful in their own right and with over 12 years of combined experience in Foster Care, and transitional Foster Care.
Training
We want to assist youth in developing the skills necessary to function as independent adults. We will provide training in various disciplines. Training will include but not be limited to:
